Quite a lot of Granny Squares!

At the moment I need to be creativ. I have to "craft". 

Probably it´s my balance to mommy-dom.

I´d like to present my latest project to you. A crocheted Granny Square blanket. 

Granny Squares are just fantastic, especially because for coloring nearly everything is permitted.

For this blanket I use synthetic wool because it is much cheaper than others. I'm not really happy about it, because I just wanted to practice with it, but then suddenly there have been so many Grannys finished that it would have been a waste to start over.

Well, certainly the original Granny's from the 60s and 70s were also synthetic. I must always keep in mind the authenticity. 

By the way, at the very beginning I tried it with cotton .It was horrobile. The thread consists of eight individual threads and I never managed all of them  simultaneously through the loop. I got crazy!

Granny Squares are also great because you can crochet a square in the twinkle of an eye and you don´t have to carry the whole Blanked with you.

So it is perfect for traveling and vacation. Cos I can´t take my sewing maschine with me (which I really set my heart on)I need another job. 

28 pieces are finished. But to get a blanket with a decent size I need (OMG!) 212 more;-) Next time won´t become boring I think! 

Ganz viele Granny Squares!

Ich habe zur Zeit einen enormen Drang zur Kreativität. Immer muss ich irgendetwas "schaffen". 

Ist wahrscheinlich der Ausgleich zum Mutterdasein. 

Wollte euch schnell mal mein neuestes Projekt vorstellen. 

Eine gehäkelte Granny Square Decke. Ich finde die Dinger einfach fantastisch, vor allem, weil da farbtechnisch einfach alles erlaubt ist. Für diese Decke benutze ich Synthetikwolle, weil diese viel günstiger ist als andere. Ich ärgere mich darüber ein bißchen, denn eigentlich wollte ich damit erstmal nur üben, aber dann waren plötzlich schon so viele Grannys fertig, dass es Verschwendung gewesen wäre aufzuhören.  Naja, die original Grannys aus den 60ern und 70ern waren mit Sicherheit auch aus Synthetik. Ich muss mir also immer die Authentizität vor Augen halten. Habe es ganz am Anfang übrigens mit Topflappengarn aus Baumwolle versucht.War nicht so der Hit. Der Faden bestehen aus 8 Einzelfäden und man schafft es so gut wie nie alle 8 gleichzeitig durch die Schlaufe zu ziehen. Zum VERRÜCKT werden!

Granny Squares finde ich übrigens auch deshalb so toll, weil man immer mal schnell so ein kleines Quadrat fertigstellen kann und nicht immer die komplette Decke mit sich rumschleppen muss. Ideal also für unterwegs. Für mich auch eine super Aufgabe für den Urlaub. Da ich meine Nähmaschine, die mir so ans Herz gewachsen ist nicht mitnehmen kann brauche ich eine andere Beschäftigung.  Einen Teil habe ich schon zusammengenäht.Konnte es nicht abwarten. Also, 28 habe ich bereits fertig und damit die Decke eine ordentliche Größe hat, fehlen jetzt nur noch 212 ;-) Mir wird also nicht langweilig werden.
